In 1976, filmmaker René Allio used a notorious Normandy crime as the foundation for his film I, Pierre Rivière, Having Slaughtered My Mother, My Sister, and My Brother. The film drew detailed a triple homicide that had taken place 140 years prior, and its cast was comprised almost exclusively of homegrown talent.
